Tips for Buying Used Handset from Local Market!

It’s not an easy task to buy a good used handset from a local market. During second hand purchase of handset, there remains plenty of unfound glitches, which can cause you problems after the purchase.
I made a quick guide by which you can check essential things before purchasing a used handset. I hope it will help in your future purchases.
All of us want good handset at a lowest price so first of all check the price of new handset which you want to buy because sometimes shopkeepers misguide you by telling higher prices of new handset for bargaining. Compare market price of the handset from different shops. When you find your perfect handset check following things quickly:

  • Examine physical appearance of the handset.
  • Manufacturer warranty must be reliable and check the date when warranty will expire if it’s under warranty.
  • Compare IMEI # by dialing *#06# on handset and it should match with the box and warranty card. Remember that warranty goes void if IMEI number is not matched.
  • Check accessories available with the handset including battery.
  • Now its time to check handset functionality – first of all make a call to someone and ask whether he or she can hear you clearly – simultaneously check volume keys which are located at the side of the phone.
  • Check all the buttons (including power button). Also assess the track pad or joystick integrated in your handset or otherwise the touch screen if your desire handset has touch screen.
  • Check both cameras: front and rear by taking picture and making video and keep an eye on flash light it should work.
  • Bluetooth and Wi-Fi both is essential to check
  • See memory card status from settings to make that card is working properly.
  • Now its time to check loudspeaker – play a song and listen it from speakers.
  • Check Radio if it’s integrated with your handset.
  • Plug AC adapter and check handset charging.
  • Now last but not the least, find out the security code of the phone, which should be 12345 in Nokia phones. If you find out that security code has been changed or is unknown to you then ask shop keeper to do this work for you before paying him money.
Best of luck for your future purchases.

5 mistakes that may get your Resume trashed

In the current situation, it is very necessary for people to know the mistakes than can cost them an interview call. In an article published on Rediff, Kshpira Singh highlighted the five most common errors. These are outlined below:

A cluttered CV

CVs where people simply put all possible information and expect recruiters to scroll through them to find out relevant details. The only destiny these CVs have is getting the 'delete' key pressed and landing up in the trash bins.

HR people get hundreds of applications for a single position. They don't have the time to sift through your CV and see if each candidate suits their purpose. So, it is your job to make your CV as user-friendly, so that they can find the information they are looking for in a single glance. More after the break...

Grammatical and spelling mistakes

Grammatical errors and spelling mistakes not only look shabby, but they reveal a lot about one?s attitude. If a HR manager receives a business proposal with grammar and spelling mistakes, the first thing he would think is, "Is this person really serious about the business?"

Similarly, a CV with grammatical errors and spelling mistakes will suggest that he does not care enough for this opportunity, you are lazy and you do not have an eye for detail. Nobody wants to hire an employee with any of these characteristics. So it's a given that such CVs are headed to the rejected pile.

Past failures and/or health problems

Your CV is not the place for you to talk about past failures or health problems, so keep them off paper. Some people may argue that almost everybody has the sense not to write about failures and health problems on CVs and while I agree with them, it's been known to happen.
So this pointer is for those who do commit this mistake. Take a look at your CV again and if you have addressed any of these problems directly or indirectly, it is wise to edit them out.

Current or expected CTC

Many people have developed the habit of writing about their current salary or expected salary on a CV, as they assume that all prospective employers are going to ask about it, or that most job notifications require it. It is advised not to mention it on the CV, unless specifically asked to do so.

Vague/unclear contact details

Picture this situation -- you have a menu card from a nearby restaurant in front of you. You like the dishes they serve and the price is right too. You are impressed by the fact that they deliver within 10 minutes. You pick up the phone to make a call, but are not able to find the telephone number on the menu card. You look a second time, but you are still not able to find it. You're hungry and there's another menu card from another restaurant right in front of you, which looks equally good.

What will you do? Won't you immediately place an order with the restaurant that offers a number and ask them to send the food ASAP? Later, you may realise that there was a phone number on the first menu card, hidden somewhere in a corner, but the opportunity is gone now. You may land up in a similar situation if your contact details are not clear or not easy to find for employers. Some other things to note here are:

  • Provide a phone number where potential employers can talk to you directly and don't have to go through your parents or friends.
  • Keep the e-mail addresses formal - mostly a combination of your first and last name.
  • Keep the e-mail address small and uncomplicated to avoid any typing mistakes if employers decide to contact you online.

Writing a CV is not a difficult task. The best person to do it is you. The only thing you need is to analyse your candidature properly and present it well. You will need to draft and re-draft your CV many times before you are finally happy with it.

How to reduce waist size fast? Exercise Tips

How to reduce waist size fast? Exercise Tips

Most of the people desired to lose weight around the waist. Too large waist size increases the risk for getting heart disease, stroke, high blood pressure, types 2 diabetes and high cholesterol (LDL). Fat stored around the waist can only be lost through proper diet and exercise. A calorie restricted diet with exercise is the popular method for waist slimming. However, this method deprives the body of energy needed to maintain muscle mass, which is essential for burning fat.

Exercises will help to burn the fat directly, and over the course of time fat levels will decreased around the waist line as well as many other areas of the body. Actually, it is possible to lose fat from the waist and the general abdominal area without any exercise that directly from the abdominal muscles. Also, by maintaining the monthly plan, you can lose weight around waist. In this article, you can found some exercise tips and diet tips to reduce waist size rapidly.
Exercises to Reduce Waist Size fast:

    * Hindu Squats:

This exercise is great to reduce the waist size as it helps to burn off a ton of calories. It creates a massive oxygen deficit which elicits the body to burn off fat for the quick energy. You have to do just squat up and down as fast as possible without weights in your living room or wherever.

Be sure to touch or swipe your finger tips onto the ground with each repetition to make sure you went low enough with the squat. In less than 5 minutes, do 100 repetitions. Once you can achieve this, increase your goal by adding another 100 repetitions and do it in 10 minutes. No weights or anything else is required for this; you have to just keep your back pretty straight when you do it.

    * Spinning around in a circle like a 4-year old child:

Due to its quick weight loss results as well as the “fun factor”, this exercise is rapidly becoming popular.

For this exercise, you have to do spin around clockwise with your arms out like airplane wings. To find out what makes you slightly dizzy, do 5 to 15 spins anywhere. This exercise is the key right that may become you slightly dizzy.

This exercise works as it stimulates Endocrine System of the body to bring balance to your hormones (it controls your hormones). Nowadays, most people have big imbalances in their hormones because of unnatural man-made chemicals in the air, water, foods, and products which make it tough to maintain your weight.

Spinning exercise solves this problem by bringing balance to your hormones and thereby unleashing your natural capacity to lose weight fast. It only takes 15 seconds to carry out.

    * Hula Hooping:

A cheap $3 hula hoop will help to provide you a belly dancer’s type of body. Hula hooping offers you a nice toned and feminine waist. To do this, you have to twist it around your waist for 10 minutes a day. You can also do it during 2 minute tv commercials or for a minute or 2 here and there when you are busy. It requires only 10 minutes a day.

    * Walking up an incline:

This exercise also produces a massive oxygen deficit which forces the body to burn belly fat for energy. Take a treadmill and incline it to 10-15 degrees and walk for 15 minutes. It is like night and day inclining a treadmill and walking or jogging on a flat treadmill. Also, you can walk up hills.

Control food portion to lose weight and reduce waist size:

People are consuming more food now than ever in industrializes countries. To lose excess weight, food portion control is certainly the most effective strategy. Several studies have clearly suggested that consuming appropriate portion amounts of food can help to achieve and maintain a healthy weight.

In order to lose one pound of fat, you have to burn off about 3500 extra calories. If you can cut 500 calories from your daily diet, you can lose about one pound per week.

Eat healthy portion of food about the size of the palm of your hand. Rather than taking three larger meals, try to eat five to six mini meals. Place your food on small plate because a bigger plate generally means more food and more calories!

Good fat and bad fat:

Researchers have exposed that fats are of twp types: good fats and bad fats. Essential Fatty Acids (Omega-3 Essential Fatty Acids and Omega-6 Essential Fatty Acids) are important fats for human development and health. They cannot be synthesized in the body and so must be obtained through diet.

In addition, Essential Fatty Acids (EFAs) promote weight loss by helping to satisfy hunger. Bad fats (saturated fats and trans fat) are dangerous for health. They increase bad cholesterol (LDL) in the body and should be avoided as much as possible. Weight gain, heart disease and certain types of cancer are the risk of area due to bad fats deposition. So, replace bad fats with good fats in your diet in order to lose weight and reduce waist size fast.

More water:

Water is a natural appetite suppressant. Unluckily, most people don’t drink enough water. Drink 8 to 10 glasses of water per day. For rapidly weight loss, drink two glasses of water with a piece of fibrous fruit 20 minutes before every meal. Once you start eating, you will feel full. Additionally, water is calorieless.

Low-carbohydrate diets:

To convert the carbohydrates, fats and proteins to energy (ATP), human body uses oxygen. Simple carbohydrates like table sugar, candies, cakes, pasta, bread made with white flour, soda, etc. are more easily converted into glucose than protein or fat. So, low-carb diets are used to lose weight in order to force the body to use fat as its main energy source.

Complex carbs are also called ‘good carbs’. It includes brown rice, whole wheat bread and oatmeal, spinach, lettuce, cabbage, broccoli, lentils, carrots and apples which are broken down into glucose more slowly than simple carbohydrates. Additionally, complex carbohydrates contain fiber which can keep away hunger by keeping satisfied. People who are on low-carb diets consume less simple carbs and more fish, meat, vegetables, cheese, eggs and nuts.

Steps To Clean Your Makeup

Steps To Clean Your Makeup

1. Use a gentle, slightly diluted cream on a ball of cotton wool to clean up the entire face. This will take care of the foundation and powder.
2. Remove the lipstick next. Once the overall clean up has been done, begin on the lipstick. Usually, Vaseline will get off the toughest waterproof lipstick. Rub some on your lips and wipe off with a tissue.
3. Continue with the eyes. These are gentle areas and Clinique eye makeup remover would be the best solution. These are all just preliminaries to get off the separate areas of makeup.
4. Take off all the lotions and makeup removers that you have just used. Use a gentle foaming soap to wash your face and unclog the pores.
5. Pat your face dry and put on a light night lotion to combat skin dryness that can occur from the rigorous removal of the makeup and all the chemicals used on the skin.

Tips

* If you don’t have eye makeup remover, baby oil on a cotton ball works really well (just make sure to rinse the oil off afterwards to prevent break-outs)
* Always use a noncomedogenic moisturizer. They don’t clog pores.
* You may also use the HydraMitt which is a microfiber mitt that removes makeup in seconds by using warm water only. It’s also very gentle on your eyes and will not scratch your skin like your typical microfiber cloth.

Warnings

* Do not start by washing your face, this dries out the skin and does not get off most of the makeup.
* Do Not over exfoliate the skin or use abrasive products. These can damage the skin and leave it looking dull and wrinkled.

7 tips to Control your Hunger

Our fitness trainers try to force us on a diet; our doctors warn us to control our food intake thanks to our high cholesterol levels; our wives and girlfriends have warned us they will walk out on us because of that excess baggage pouring over our belts! It is not as if we haven't tried. But it is just so darned hard to control our hunger! Sound familiar? Stay tuned. Rediff offers you tips to control that darn hunger so that you can go ahead and finally be successful in your attempts to stop overeating. Read more after the break...

1.Eat small frequent meals.
Want to lose weight? Eat more -- frequently, that is. Your body needs food to provide energy, repair damaged muscle tissue, and to carry out various other functions. But there are only so many nutrients it can draw from each meal. Large meals mean more nutrients than your body can handle, thus causing an 'overflow effect'. Thus, go for smaller, more frequent meals. They provide just the right amount of nutrients every few hours, without causing that overflow effect. They also maintain blood sugar levels, thus keeping your appetite and energy levels in control.

2. Don't skip meals!

Skipping meals and going too long without food can turn hunger pangs into irresistible cravings. To start with, don't skip breakfast! It is amazing how so many people skip this meal. If you are one of those, change that nasty food habit. NOW! Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Your first meal of the day helps replenish all those nutrients lost during that all-night fast. It raises those early morning low blood sugar levels. Missing out on this meal means setting you up for low blood sugar levels and, thus, low energy levels and irresistible hunger pangs and cravings at lunchtime.

3. Eat your veggies!

Vegetables are healthy. They are chockfull with nutrients that can boost your health. They are also rich in fibre, the dieters' secret weapon to control hunger. While all vegetables are beneficial as far as good health and hunger control go, certain veggies, like broccoli, cauliflower, spinach and mushrooms, are super-high in fibre and have a negligible amount of calories. They can fill your stomach and control your hunger while filling you with a small amount of calories.

4. Eat more whole grains and less refined carbohydrates.

Whole grains, besides being healthier than their 'nutrient-stripped' refined counterparts, are also higher in fibre.
Thus they are more filling and satisfying. While refined carbs -- like idlis, dosas, white bread, white rice -- may be low in fat, they are higher in fibre. You may run the risk of over-consuming calories.

5. Eat slowly!

Give it a shot. It actually works. The brain actually takes ten minutes longer than the stomach to receive the message that it is full. Thus, eating too fast might cause you to eat beyond the point of fullness without even realising.

6. Sleep and shed those pounds!

Studies have found that people who sleep only five hours every night were 50 per cent more likely to be obese than those who sleep seven to nine hours. Researchers believe lack of sleep affects hormones related to appetite, causing you to gain pounds.

7. Drink more water!

Water is the healthiest, cheapest and most easily available appetite suppressant around. Thirst is often mistaken as hunger. Also, foods with high water content can fill you up easily. They naturally pack fewer calories for their volume. Toss together a salad of lettuce, cucumbers.

How to Install RAM

These instructions will assist you in installing memory (RAM) into your computer.
Steps

1. Find out what type of RAM is required for your computer.
2. Find out how much of that type of RAM your computer can take.
3. Purchase RAM online; it's much cheaper.
4. Open your computer case (this may require a screw driver; usually a Phillips-Head.)
5. Once you have the case open, you need to locate the RAM slots on your motherboard. Most RAM slots are located on the top of the motherboard, on the right-hand side. You should see something in the computer that is similar to what you bought at the store.
6. Push the clamps OPEN to release the memory (if there is RAM already in there, which there may or may not be, depending on whether you're building a computer or altering an existing one). Remove old memory.
7. Look at the new memory and survey the motherboard memory slots. They should have a notch in each memory slot.
8. Line the notch on the motherboard up with the notch on the new memory.
9. Press gently but firmly until claps close completely. Once you have done this, the memory should be installed correctly.
10. Turn on the computer.
11. Once you have successfully booted the system, turn the machine off again and put the side panel back on the computer.
12. VOILA! You have just installed new RAM.

Tips

* If you are getting a beep when you turn on the computer, you have either installed an incorrect memory type, or you have installed the memory incorrectly. If this is a computer that you purchased at a store, you should contact the store or the manufacturer of the computer to find out what the beep code means.
* If you hear anything other than a single beep lasting one second, check your motherboards' documentation for an explanation of beep codes. Beep codes are a warning system when one or more components fails the POST (Power On Self Test), and is usually due to malfunctioning or incompatible hardware.
* If you are adding more RAM (not replacing), make sure there are enough RAM slots. Often you need to buy the exact same RAM as you currently have. Also, having a pair of 512MB is often cheaper than replacing a 512MB with a 1024MB.
* A good website to use is the crucial memory website http://www.crucial.com/ as they have a memory advisor tool which tells you how much and what type of ram your computer takes . you can also buy memory from here

Warnings

* These instructions are for Desktop computers, not Laptops.
* Make sure to discharge any possible static buildup before touching RAM; it is extremely sensitive to ESD (Electro-Static Discharge). Do this by touching something metal before touching your computer

Benefits of Home Networking

Why Home Networking? The concept of the Personal Computer has become popular since the Third Generation of Computers proliferated in the consumer market. Since then, computers have become part and parcel of almost every home. In fact, at present, there are many homes housing more than one computer, one for each member of the household. At this point, having these computers connected in a home network or a home area network (HAN) using a home networking solution has numerous advantages
Home Networking Advantages

A home network is a residence-based local area network and it connects multiple computers within the vicinity of the residential area. The simplest of home networks usually connect two or more computing devices so that files, printers, scanners etc. can be shared between these along with a single Internet connection. For increased functionality a server may also be added.

One of the major advantages of home networking in a house with multiple computers is that Internet access can be provided to all the connected computers with the help of a home networking setup in spite of there being only one computer that is physically connected to the Internet via a modem. This is one of the main benefits for which homes with several computers look towards home networking.

File sharing is another such advantage provided by home networking, providing an extremely effective storage solution. In most home computers, there is a build-up of old files over long periods of time. When new files must be created and stored, it may so happen that there is not enough space on the hard disk of a certain computer which contains too many of such old files. An effective way of dealing with such a situation is to transfer files from the computer to any of the other computers connected in the home network which have adequate memory space. In fact, one computer can be designated the “file server” which stores all these files and every time the file needs to be accessed, the networked computer just has to connect to the file server and retrieve it. As there is only one storage location, data handling is simpler and disk space is saved. Information exchange also provides a big boost to multiplayer gaming and easier file printing by printer sharing.

Home networking generally needs a manual setup. Connecting cables physically interconnect the computers in the home networking setup while hubs, routers or switches interconnect the connected computers to allow file sharing. These devices are therefore information ‘distributors’.

Extend Your Laptop’s Battery Life

One of the most important aspect when you buy a laptop should be the life battery, and after you buy it, you should take care of it and try to extend it as much as you can. Here are some tips for extending your laptop's battery life.

First of all, you should defrag your hard drives regularly and pay attention to the fact that the faster your laptop's hard drive works, less demand you are putting on the hard drive and the battery. You should make your hard drives as efficient as possible, and defrag them. It is well known that Mac OSX is built to handle better the fragmentation and it may not be very applicable to computer with Apple OS installed.

You can "cut" the laptop screen to the lowest level of dim, so you can modify the CPU and cooling performances. This is another way you can aqueeze some battery juice, and also you should throw an eye to the programs running on background, because they are all added to the CPU load and they cut battery life. Shut down everything you think it is not crucial when you are on battery.Other aditional devices which should be cut in order to extend the battery life are the external devices, and I think you can quit the coffee warmer, or the mini drum kit when you are on battery. All these USB devices, including the mouse, and the Wi-Fi drain the laptop battery.

To extend your laptop's battery life, you should think about adding some more RAM, whcih will alow your laptop to process more with the mamory it has, than based on the virtual memory. This virtual memory usage means that you take space from the hard disk, and it has a very low eficiency. This is very aplicable to situation when you run programs which require a lot of virtual memory.

How to Monetize Your Free Website

For some time now I have been aggressively marketing my Geocities website.without the prospect of any financial return. The site is content based so I did
not expect to generate any product sales and neither was I able to lure potential
sponsors.

But that has quietly changed. Google has decided to reward webmasters with
quality free websites the chance to rake in some cash for their hard work.
Google’s contextual advertising program Adsense has been around since June
2003. Back then the program was open only to webmasters with their own
domain names and many quickly took up the opportunity to cash in on their
labor of love sites.

When the Big G announced that they were expanding Adsense to accommodate
free sites, some people scoffed at the idea because they believe that freebie
sites are full of junk.

I first learnt of this move while browsing around a few webmaster forums and to
my surprise some persons were against this move by Google. I believe that
Google’s intention is to bring in as much as possible quality websites under the
Adsense umbrella.

My first application for Adsense was rejected and I got an explanation stating
that my site was still under construction. I thought that this was a mistake so I
reapplied the same day and got accepted. Right away I was able to log in to my
account and start putting the code for the ads on my pages.

The control panel is easy to understand and Google provides stats and figures in
order for you to track your performance. You can also add Adsense for search
where visitors can search the web or your site and you get compensated
everytime someone clicks on the ads displayed.

Developing content sites is key to success in Adsense. Why? Because Google’s
technology uses the content of each page to guess which ads are most suitable.
The higher the quality of the content, the higher quality and paying ads you will
attract.

Please note that getting accepted into Adsense does not guarantee that you will
receive a check from them. Your success depends on many factors.
Some of them include the number of visitors, the placement of the ads, the
value of the keywords on the page where the ads are shown and how many
persons who will clickthru on the Adsense ad panel.

For those with unscrupulous minds, Google has ways and means to find out
where each ad click is originating from. Therefore no click spamming.
Adsense is a win-win situation for all the players involved. It benefits the visitors
with additional information, the search engines because of higher quality
websites and you with a check every month.
